RBWM Local Plan being challenged

The RBWM Local Plan is being challenged in court.

One of the four issues being challenged was discovered through the research of our colleague Adam Bermange who identified that the process the council followed might not have been correct. Although we challenged this at the time both privately and at the council meeting, on both occasions we were ignored.

The other three issues concern the loss of sports provision, flooding, particularly in the Strande Park site in Cookham, and an issue to do with the Maidenhead Golf course.

Meanwhile, despite the legal challenge, the Council is pushing ahead with its plans for building in the south of Maidenhead. They are planning a series of on-line events where you can say how you feel about the plans and ask live questions.

The sessions so far planned are:

•    Community Needs – Wednesday 30th March 2022, 6.30pm

•    Connectivity – Wednesday 6th April 2022, 6.30pm

•    Sustainability and the Environment – Wednesday 13th April 2022, 7.15pm (please note later start time)

They have said that the links for joining the live sessions via Microsoft Teams and to the feedback form will be added to this webpage during w/c 28 March 2022.
